National Anthem is Advance Australia Fair

Verse 1
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Verse 2

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia

Music

Music is an important part of life in Australia. Everyone listens to music from the most civilized to the most rural. In Australia, the common instruments are not very different from those we see in Canada. Guitar, drums, banjo and other percussion instruments fall under this category. But of all the instruments of Australia the one that is native and most unique to the country is the didgeridoo. This instrument has been played by Indigenous people for centuries. The instrument is played by vibrating the mouth around the top of the long tube. You then can express yourself with different patterns of vibrating the tube. Many “didge” players use the method called circular-breathing so they can play for a very long time. This is instrument is used in ceremony’s and when playing, the player wears traditional native wear.
There are many genres of music played in Australia. A few are Rock, Folk, Jazz, and Bush rock. Bush rock the genre native to Australia is simply folk music about Australia.
